WEBINAR: Civic Education in the Parliamentary Administrations of the Eastern Partnership Countries - July 22, 2021

On 22 July, the Moldovan Chairmanship of the Network of Secretaries General of Parliament of the Eastern Partnership Countries led by Mr Adrian ALBU, Secretary General of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, hosted the webinar Civic Education in the Parliamentary Administrations of the Eastern Partnership Countries. The webinar was moderated by Ms Elena CĂPĂȚÎNĂ, head of the Directorate General for Communication and Public Relations of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, who made a presentation of the civic education activities carried out by the Secretariat of the Moldavan Legislature. These included guided tours, the online parliamentary camp, the intellectual game Know your Parliament, competitions for children and young people, events, and activities involving all categories of citizens.


The format of the webinar was the following: the representatives of the participating parliaments shared their experiences about civic education programmes and actions developed and promoted by their institutions. The discussions were aimed at encouraging a productive dialogue between parliamentary institutions and citizens, as well as highlighting some milestones that could lead to the generation of joint actions between the Secretariats of the legislative bodies of Georgia, Armenia, Ukraine and Moldova.


The event was part of the programme of activities of the Network of Secretaries General of Parliaments of the Eastern Partnership Countries and its goal was to promote the strengthening of the cooperation between Member States' legislatures. The webinar was attended by 8 representatives from the respective subdivisions of parliamentary administrations of Moldova, Armenia, Georgia and Ukraine.
